It's My Country: The Weekend Choice |

At the weekend, my sons go to swimming pool at the Lido Graha Hotel, Lhokseumawe, Aceh, Indonesia. What should I do while waiting for them to finish swimming?
My choice is Country Café which is exactly in the three-star hotel complex. The café is not far from Jalan Medan - Banda Aceh which is a trans-Sumatra road connecting Aceh Province with Sumatra Utara Province and other provinces in Sumatra Island.
So, getting into this cafe is easier when traveling or having an event at the hotel as I have experienced. Country Cafe is always an choice while waiting for the childrens to finish swimming.
When journalists in Lhokseumawe held activities at the Lido Graha Hotel, the Country cafe was also an option for us to visit, although not always on weekends.
Although the mainstay menu at the Country café is coffee, there are also various types of food available here. My choice here is always two; aceh fried noodles and sea food fried rice. As for drinks, as usual I choose cold sanger.
I've written about sanger in a previous post. This is a typical Aceh drink made from various types of coffee; robusta or arabica. There is a little mixture of milk in the sanger, but the aroma of coffee that still wafts at the top of the nose.
I have one hour to two hours at the Country café. I will spend a long time writing or reading it. If there are friends in the Country café, usually they will greet me and invite to talk about many things.
When I was writing an article or short story that I had to finish, the arrival of someone who interrupted the work would be very disturbing, especially if the job was to write articles that demand high concentration.
I could have said, "Hi, I'm sorry, I'm very pleased to meet you this weekend. But today I want to write here. Don't disturb me please…."
However, for some friends who haven't met for a long time, I can't say like that. Finally, I invited them to drink and eat aceh fried noodle together.
We spend a plate of fried noodles containing pieces of shrimp, squid, or just a piece of sunny side up. I've tried it and sometimes replace it with fried rice, depending on taste on weekends, or depending on the night I have a meal or not.
So, Country café becomes my second country on weekends. Here, I write accompanied by music that sometimes plays Aceh songs. Two hours will not be felt in the midst of writing while eating noodles and drinking a sanger. []
