Fear of heights? No worries, someone will guide you walking through the edge of this breathtaking rock formation. Here we are at the infamous Gungal Peak. The highlight of Mount Ulap. It takes courage to sit or stand at the edge but for the sake of facing my fears, I did it.

Gungal Rock is a triangular formation. Better watch your steps and let your guide support you because you'll walk through the slippery slope towards the edge. One mistake and surely you’ll fall down the ravine. I bet you will be mesmerized by the cloud formations that linger atmospherically on and between the peaks.



You should be quick in capturing photos as the locals limited it to ten seconds due to the volume of tourist. However, in our case we hike during weekdays so the peak is almost empty. We take our time enjoying the spectacular view of Cordillera mountain as a backdrop of this peak.



Why is it called Mt. Ulap?

“Ulap” is a Filipino word which means cloud. From the first peak up to the summit you’ll catch a sight of a rolling fluffy white clouds.
