Puppies

I swear that some animals
See to your soul,
They sense something secret
That doesn't just show,

Puppies and people
They share a connection,
It's more than security
More than protection,

It's simple and honest
It's no strings attached,
It's love at its finest
The realest perhaps,

There's something we lost
In our civilized selves,
Society's sweet
But there's still something else,

It's gorgeous outside
As I go for a run,
And Lucy keeps up
Like she's chasing the Sun,

Lucy's a good dog
But most of them are,
Puppies and children
They cling to our hearts,

A wonderful thing
It's feeling like Spring,
Nature is blooming
And birds start to sing,

The puppies enjoy it
As much as I do,
They see to your soul
I swear that it's true.
