At such close macro distance 1.8 DOF would be too narrow
Hmmm interesting. I have 1:1 macro and something like this I got with 1.8-2.0. But like you said 1.8 is very percisly. No room for details :)
1:1 still workable, but 5:1 is completely other story :)
