My vegetable garden

in #garden9 years ago

Hey everybody, I have been growing some vegetables in the garden of my parents and I want to show you the results:

First, some strawberries:

Unfortunately, a lot of them are being eaten by birds, but this one survived.

Pumpkins:

They just started flowering so i'm curious how big they will become.

Cavolo nero, or palm cabbage:

This cabbage is not well known, but they get really big and are I think tastier than normal cabbage.

Carrots:

They look good above ground, but they get these rediculous shapes underground, check out my other post to find out haha.

Leek:

These grow slowly, but eventually I hope they will get really big.

Beets:

Did you know that you can also eat the leaves of beets as a salad? I don't really like the taste though...

These huge tomato plants:

They are actually taller then I am, around 1.80 Meters (5.9 feet). They grow an insane amount of tomatoes, so this is defenitely the most succesfull plant.

Last but not least, my tiny avocado tree:

This is already one year old, and growing very slow, but i'm curious to see whether it will ever grow avocados.

Hope you liked it, and if you did, please upvote, resteem and follow. Thanks!

My parents also grow their own vegetable :) But we only have tomatoes, some chinese pumpkin and peas! In comparison ours is so tiny :P Anyway i love your parents garden. So much more healthy to plant your own vegetable than the ones you buy at the supermarket!

You need to start small, and expand when you get more experience. The space that I use is also not a lot but you just have to use all of the space. Yes it is so much more healthy, and it tastes a lot better as well i think!!!

That's an awesome garden :) it's amazing what a little hard work will produce :) :) Kayleigh

Thanks, just plant some seeds and give them water and they do the rest themselves :)
