Foggy Mountain Breakdown

So a fun fact related to me is that in about 24 hours I'll be boarding a plane on its way to Denver Colorado. I'm heading out there with my family, to visit both Denver and a few of the surrounding areas South of there. We are going to Cripple Creek, Colorado Springs and a few other areas around there. Does anyone have any good ideas for stuff we should do in that area? Keep in mind, I will be with my pregnant wife, my five-year-old son and my parents. So unfortunately, multi-day backpacking treks are out for this trip. I've been out to CO a few times, but have focused more on RMNP instead of South. So if you have any first-hand (or second-hand) experience, let me know! I'm all ears.
