Tari Rapai Geleng (Ethnic Dance From Aceh

Let me introduce to all of you about one of many ethnic dance from Aceh.
"Tari Rapai Geleng"
Rapai (tambourine) here is musical instrument that used in this dance.
Rapai Geleng first appeared in South Aceh around 1965. The names adopted from "Syeik Ripai" the first man that expand the Rapai (tambourine) in Aceh.
This dance express dinamization in Community life into singing poems,
This dance only do by mens, Usually played by 12 mens with 1 Syahi do the Poems (sing it).
Poems contain Religious , Socialization , and Harmony in life.
Tarian Rapai Geleng have 3 Stages, i.e:
- Saleum (Greetings)
- Poems (Religious Story, Social, Harmonization)
- Lani (Closing)
Basically, the motion on the dance rhythms rapai geleng only consists in four levels; slow, fast, very fast and silent. The Fourth such motion levels is shows how society characteristics.
In the slow movement, the rhythm of the dance moves that give the message all actions taken must be preceded by a mature thought process, equalization of perception and awareness of the issues that will arise in the future as a result of the decision taken is something that should be considered carefully.
Fast movement is the second motion, in this movement, the message conveyed is how the message when the evil deeds, which meant as a unlucky fate, again performed by the same person or institution. How it can be done in any form, but it's still limited to protest loudly.
Very fast movements is the third motion, hinted chaos into the pattern option in the third level of resistance. A resistance when strong protest not taken care. become a message that requires any form of resistance when the dignity and the dignity of peoples were trampled.
In the last motion , all movements of the last stop, including the whole of the song's verses. This is the final movement of dance. Silent movement is a movement that symbolizes the firmness, the exhaustion of all the process of interaction.
