SELL GREATLYsteemCreated with Sketch.

I was fortunate to have an encounter with a marketing officer that I may never see again. He was really competent and caring. But in a world filled with countless choices as to who we can transact with. I am enticed by marketers or salesperson and organisation who are really great.

This is what happened....... I want tell a short story.

Looking for a book, I walked in and found the staff. I see. He's immersed into activities on his PC. Says "what's up" without facing up (I'm serious about this). I tried my best to engage his mind, eventually, he got disengaged from the flat screen for a few seconds to look at the human figure standing before him.

Begrudgingly, he answered part of my questions. Then showed me some books that they have in stock.

Alas! This dude struggled to pay attention to what he is hired for, while weaving monologue on reasons why I should buy what he's selling.

What do you expect? I should be on my way to his competitors across the road. They treated me so greatly, they got it right, and got my money.

I'm my little experience, I have worked in few organisations, so here are my observations;

  • As someone who aspire to sell greatly, use people's name often, call them by their names if you know it. Of course, you should try to know your customers' names, even in first five minutes of meeting.

  • Endeavour to look at them in the eyes, show them that you care. It doesn't cost anything, will it?

  • To sell greatly and consistently, you've got to listen more than you speak. More so, if you are an entrepreneur, pay attention to this.

  • Respect people's time, don't waste it.

  • keep to promises, practice fidelity.

  • Show genuine concern about helping customers than selling to them. Buyers can sniff insincerity from a thousand miles away.

  • Be passionate about what you sell, your products and services.

  • Strive to be better than everyone in your sector, so read as much as you can about other products, develop your skills daily and think creatively.

  • Customers are royalty, accept this fact and treat them RIGHT!

all of these sounds like simple strategies, right? What distinguishes the best from the rest is the ability to adhere to simple instructions, practice it until it gives a spectacular results.

Finally, we are all selling something, so learn how to sell yourself. Read 'How to Sell Yourself' written by Ludwig, I strongly recommend this book to you. Can you make a pledge that you will begin to SELL GREATLY onward?
