Bop Music Player: Bringing New Experience To Your Ears

I've been around in this world for over two decades. Okay, there were times that we were not really conscious of our environment, but I can say that I have been conscious for over two decades too.
Ever since I am yet to see anyone who doesn't like music. Well, maybe there are a few exceptions, but to more than 90% of us, it is a significant part of our lives.
I have music for almost all life activities, I create a playlist for the workout, meditation, reading, and driving. Any condition that I find myself, there is a perfect list of music for it.

What Would We Have Done Without Music Player Apps?

Fast forward to 2004, when only the privileged youth have access to Sony Walkman, only a few guys enjoyed music at the with non-rechargeable batteries that deplete after a few hours of use. In 2013, we were excited at the arrival of Android phones, it came with a pre-installed music player. Alas! Such a player is too dry when it comes to functionality and features.

Open Source Music Player, My New Obsession

I am always fascinated by the thought of making a perfect playlist for myself, tweaking equalizers to create my favorite sound, changing themes that makes my friend asked me about my music player. Who does not want to protect her eyes at night? The bop music player is loaded with these features, I found this mobile app and I thought of sharing my experience with the rest of the world.

What To Expect

In this article, we will take a look at Bop features such as theme, day/night appearance, equalizer, and slide bar. We shall articulate how these functionalities can be combined to create an amazing experience for music lovers on their android phones. Then, recommendations will be made to improve the users' experience.

How I Used Bop Music Player, My Experience

Maybe I'm alone in this obsession but light mobile apps are really my favorites. A lot of people struggle with 2 gigabytes RAM (Random Access Memory) which in most cases, system application would have occupied almost 45% of the entire space in RAM. Bop is less than 5mb, this is actually the lightest music player that I have ever used. So I downloaded and ran it immediately. Let's explore. Every music got scanned irrespective of their audio format, I was able to interact with all songs.

• Search: not all songs made it to my playlist, many of us have songs that remain in our phone and never got played in almost one year. This is the reality of our time. Who said you will not need these of songs at any time? This is where the search feature saved me a lot of time. Instead of searching from folder to folder, I found them by searching song title or artist name in the search box. This is helpful.
  
• Playlist: what is the essence of having a music player, if you cannot decide on the selection of tracks that you want to listen to at any given period? Bop playlist is similar to that of in-built android music player playlist, but I love the simple-looking interface, it makes it more easy to choose between different lists.
  
• Files: since I have been using it, every audio has been loaded up, but if it happens that some did not load, they can be brought to the attention of Bop through file explorer. Simply click on file icon on the menu.
  
• Equalizer: I made a short video while playing songs with the app and exploring some of its features. I enjoyed the feeling of control that I have when it comes to the kind of sound that goes into my ears. There are 12 unique equalizers from classical to dance, folk, flats, jazz, heavy, metal, hip hop, rock, and pop.
  

Music is better when you have the power to change equalizer or create new ones.

Though the problem that I had with the Bop was the inability to save my custom equalizers and name it as I deemed fit.

• Themes: the fact that there are several themes shows that all users do not have to accept the fate of having the same graphics experience, all year round. I could change the theme at any time based on my color preference, this is a great inclusion in the evolution of music player mobile apps.
  
• Appearance: yes, I would love to play music even at bedtime, some users don't want to be exposed to the bright light of phones. I can choose between day and night mode depending on day time, but I permanently activated night mode- that is my most preferred appearance.

In Conclusion

The music player is one of the most used apps on smartphones, listening to our favorite songs can be a good experience for us, music lovers. But a great music player like Bop improves this experience. The developers are sincere enough to have informed users that we will experience application crash, this is for a short period as work is ongoing to make Bop better. It is loaded with unique features, I will definitely wait for new updates. It great functionality makes it worth the patience. This is an open source project, I anticipate drastic improvement.

My Suggestions

• Developers should enable users to save custom equalizers
• Work on frequent crashes though it happens when the app is overused.
• Includes sleep timer for users that love to listen to music at bedtime, I am one of them.
• Add queue so that users can play music on queue aside from playlist
