Training for American Ninja Warrior - Day 30

Hello Ninjas!

So... I'm feeling pretty strong. Yesterday's workout was great.
I took on new challenges last night, and I loved it. It's taken a long time to feel like I'm actually improving on the previous week. Just in time too, I've got my Monthly Test in 2 days.

I was really happy with my run on Monday, and I managed to shave 10 seconds off it today. I'm pushing myself harder than I have all month... because I finally feel like my legs aren't going to break off. I'm still not 100% discomfort-free, but it's light enough that I can really focus on pushing my lungs.

I did 5 hill sprints.
Calf totally cramped up on the tail end of the last one. Good timing calf!

There is nothing else that I do that wreaks me like hill sprints.
If you're ever looking for an exercise to thrash your body in the shortest possible time... hill sprints are it.

I didn't do any box jumps, box steps or calf raises. With my legs cramping after the hill sprints, it didn't seem wise... especially with my test on Friday.

Looooove lower back day.
I mean, still feel like a clown, but I'm glad it's included in the program.

So... I struggled with the raw vegan diet... being all fruits and veggies.
I think I'm just not in the right mindset to commit to it at this point. So, I grabbed some pita bread with peanut butter for lunch... and carb'd up a storm. It was amazing... but I went too hard and was still feeling full hours later at hill sprint time. I need to figure that out.

I liked having 2 bananas and a Granny Smith apple for breakfast though. It's way easier than cooking eggs or whatever, and doesn't make me feel too weird to run like cereal or bread does.

So, breakfast sorted, and I like having veggies for dinner. Just need to figure lunch out.

Off to do all the rehabs/rice buckets now. Thanks for reading!

Howdy sir aussieninja! Hey that sounds very good and exciting! What does it take to make it to the United States and on tv?

Hello Sir Janton!

Well, you've got to send in an application by the 2nd of Jan... that application requires a 3 minute video of you being absolutely amazing. They get about 100,000 applications, and I think take 700 people all up. If you somehow get selected, then you run the American Ninja Course... of the 120 people that run the course, about 20-30 are actually shown on TV... Most of those people are the well known ninjas... with only a couple of the new people being introduced per season... and that's mainly if you have an incredibly touching story.

My goal for this year is just to submit an application... it might take a couple of years to make it onto the course...

Howdy again aussieninja! Wow, that is some great information there, thank you! 700 out of 100K applications, dang!
That's amazing. They change the obstacles or whatever you call them, they change those all the time so how do you know what to practice on?

Get it wish I could try that stuff out! If only that had been around when I was a kid!
