The 2017 season for the Steemit Scramble has officially ended and the results are in for the final three contests!

It was a great season overall, despite some early hiccups with hard forks and post rewards, but there was steady support and participation throughout. Thank you to everyone who was part of this and a huge thanks to @blocktrades for sponsoring this contest for the Steemit sports community!

I hope everyone enjoyed the weekly, monthly, and season contest formats. If you have any comments, critiques or suggestions on how this can be improved, feel free to let me know. I wanted to run these contests for you – the Steemit community – so if there’s any way to improve it, I want to hear about it!

Now...without any further delay, here are the winners of the final three Steemit Scramble contests that concluded with the Presidents Cup.

The 2x multiplier was the total number of points by the International Team, which was 11. The closest contestant guess came from @marzi, who guessed the exact number. As a result, they were able to double their golfer score from 7 to 14, then added a 5-point bonus for a unique golfer combination.

The September optional special bonus winner for the Presidents Cup was Hideki Matsuyama. All contestants who selected Hideki Matsuyama received a 50% bonus for their final September score. All contestants who selected Brooks Koepka lost 25% of their final September score. These optional weekly bonuses may have accumulated or canceled each other out during September.

The total pot for the weekly contest was 24 SBD. The 1st place contestant received 12 SBD and the four contestants finishing in a 2nd place tie each received 3 SBD.

The season contest came down to the wire and a great strategy by @liberty-minded paid off in the end. He was able to secure three 50% bonuses in September while also winning the final two weekly contests, catapulting him onto the top of the final leaderboard! Some big moves were made throughout the final “playoff” month and these are the final results for the season standings.

Thanks again for all of the support!

We had a total of 170 contestants throughout the season, most of them participating in multiple contests. Congratulations to all of the winners since the contests began in February! Thank you to everyone who upvoted, resteemed, and shared these contests outside of Steemit!

One of the goals of these contests was to encourage and entice people to join and to be active within the sports community. I can’t say how many people joined because of the Steemit Scramble, but I know a lot of users have thanked me for creating and running the Scramble throughout the duration of the season. So even if we weren’t able to reach a lot of people outside of this platform, there was at least an opportunity to engage in sports-related contests for the Steemit community and there was another chance for non-bloggers to engage and earn on Steemit.

I hope you have all enjoyed the season and are happy with the results. If you have any feedback to offer, please do so!

Special thanks to @blocktrades for supporting and sponsoring this Steemit community event!

Why do golfers always carry a spare pair of trousers with them?

In case they get a hole in one.

Lol..... 😄
Good one

thanks @lydon.sipe, I thought you had it locked up for sure!

I played it safe, and you went for it. Hats off to you.

Winning the final two weeks did the trick. How did you know which golfers to pick??

Any idea who's going to win the Super Bowl this year? I want to place a Vegas bet.

Congrats @liberty-minded on the incredible finish! I should have played it more risky, but I was content where I was!

Thanks for running these contests @ats-david! I appreciate all of the hard work and dedication it takes to running these contests!

You're welcome. Thanks for coming back week after week and participating in all of my contests. It makes me feel like I'm at least doing something right.

Really enjoyed these contests, thank you. Congrats to all the winners

Fantastic contest running skills. I placed pretty well so I'm happy about that. Congrats to everyone else and see you all on the links 2018!!!

Third for the month...and seventh for the season. That's pretty good for getting a late start! You know how to pick 'em.

I always look forward to these contests, my favorite sports one here!

Thanks for hosting this top-notch contest @ats-david, I'm looking forward to next season!

I'm not sure about next season. This was a lot of work to do every week. Maybe I can tweak the format and find a way to partially automate some of it. If I knew a good developer with some free time, I'd get started on a separate interface for this. Ideally, I'd like to have a hybrid fantasy sports platform running on the blockchain, but I know that will take a lot of work...and money.

Totally understandable, running contests is a lot of work. Doing these daily NHL contests has ended up taking a lot more time for upkeep than I anticipated. I'd be happy to help if there is anything I can do

Congrats to all the winners and thanks for the 8th place prize :-)

Thanks for organizing this contest. it's been fun!!! :))

Congratulations all the participants and winners
