Regarding Socrates and Plato; I always think socrates was a difficult man to live with as a spouse. He argued with everything, and claimed himself he married the chic to have a partner to argue with. Also, if youre husband openly confesses to loving another man ( Alcibiades) i dont think it would boost your ego. Maybe I'm missing some parts? Or ive got a narrow perspective on this I'm sure not legitimising why she slept with the pupil but dont you think socrates was a difficult husband?
Are not all partners in a highly committed relationship victim to the difficulties of one another ?lol 😊 ....it's only when we can accept and learn from one another's faults, then where are blessed the gift of truly loving them.....its just sad now an days in a fast paced world built on convenience no one has the patience, if people just took the time to understand one another and accept could be blessed with something more.
But my friend. Seems like even before this fast paced era Socrates wife was over his retarded ways. I dont mean to offend you in any way :) and I hope you dont see this as an argument. I agree with the part about tolerance but everyone is different some can tolerate others not so much. Theres a persian proverb that goes "not all five fingers are alike". so maybe that was it, maybe some other person might have put up with Socrates but she didnt. I usually never comment on matters of the heart, because tbh I'm not old enough to have had my share of loves gained and lost. But oh well.
