New Solar Panel Import Tax: Bad?
Looks like the US will be taxing solar panel imports by 30%, according to a new law signed Tuesday.
Of course, this probably won't fix anything. According to the Solar Energy Industries Association, only 3 of their 41 closures were because of imports:

What does this mean for us? Well, I'm getting more solar panels while the prices are low ;)
For 25-80 USD, you can get solar panel chargers on Amazon, both small batteries (25-40) and larger panels (50-80) that you can hook batteries onto.

The best part about these products is that they work. You can charge your phone, your wireless headphones, your electronic lighters, NO power grid needed.
Perhaps, in a way, this import tax will motivate us to make our own solar panels. After all, China was the main exporter of Solar Panels, and they're growing into a superpower that may no longer need us.
Either way, expect prices on imported panels to go up. Businesses in America that work with solar may have to find new domestic producers. There's a chance this could work out, though.
