Adelaide Rainbow Walk Defaced With"Jesus ❤️ You" Graffiti 🌈
A rainbow crosswalk in Adelaide, Australia, meant to highlight important dates in LGBTQ
history, was defaced recently by someone who wrote “Jesus ♥ you” over each date. The
unnamed 28-year-old vandal’s actions were caught on video by a man and his partner as they drove past the landmark. The vandal has been arrested and the Adelaide City Council said the graffiti would be removed immediately.

I actually live in Adelaide. You pronounced it right the first time by the way.
I agree that this was a completely passive aggressive attack on the LGBTQ community. I’m not entirely surprised that it happened here in Adelaide. A little though.
Adelaide is one of the smallest capital cities in Australia. We have about 1.4 million people living here. Compare that to Melbourne which has about 5 million and you will see why I say Adelaide is small.
And with Adelaide being small, for some reason means that we have quite a conservative population even though our nation largely consists of people who are non-religious or people who don’t identify with any particular religion.
I was happy to see the rainbow path recently when I saw it for the first time. And it angers me that this young idiot thought that vandalising the path with his pathetic and, as you rightly said, passive aggressive message was a good idea.
I am very happy he got caught. Being 28 years old should mean that we get to know his name.
I’ll be sure to look him up.
