FRIENDSHIP: Relationship that lasts forever

Not every friendship is meant to last forever. Some of them only last as long as you need them too. It can be hard to tell whether or not your friendship will be one that lasts a lifetime but it doesn't have to be, all you need to do is look at the signs. Here are some I've noticed in my forever friendships:

1. When you're together, silence isn't awkward.
   Spending time with each other doesn't have to be anything spectacular. It doesn't have to be a night out at the club or a bar. A simple movie and wine night is all you need. Maybe even just going to the library for six hours. No matter what it is it doesn't have to require both of you trying to entertain the other, just having each other is all you need.

2. You've passed the test of time.
   There's an old saying that claims if you've been friends with a person for over 10 years then your friendship will last a lifetime. This statement could be true considering over a 10 year span a person changes quite a bit and if you and your friend are still together that is a great sign; it means you are able to change together.

1. You reach milestones together.
   Important moments in your life shared with a friend, those are the ones kept close to your heart and the most memorable. When you reach a milestone together you share something that means a lot to you. You work toward the goal together, side by side, and accomplish it with each other right there by one another's side.

2. You travel together.
   When you travel with someone you learn so many things you didn't know about that person. You learn their limits and patience. It's a bonding experience like no other. It's an experience that changes you and your relationship. You've experienced new adventures together. It's something only the two of you would understand, and that is so special.

1. Going weeks without talking isn't a big deal.
   As you get older people move and distance interrupts relationships. The best friendships are the ones where the distance doesn't ruin the relationship. If you can go weeks without speaking to your friend and then pick up exactly where you left off from the last time you spoke like there was never any time between is extraordinary.

2. Change doesn't affect your relationship.
   Change happens, you can't do anything about it, you can't stop it, you can only keep moving forward with the change. A friendship that will last forever won't let change break them up. A forever friendship is where you change but you don't let those changes change how you feel about each other.
