Hope and Despair

What is it that gives us hope?

Why do we keep falling forward from failure to failure?

There is something within that fight to survive.
A fury that blazes in the face of defeat.
The animal within rages to be unleashed.
The rekindling of hope in our hearts revived.

Can the soul keep from being crushed by our circumstances?

Do we stand for another day against an unfathomable foe?

We can only move forward and ignore the pain.
When doubting we can always choose to forget.
We can only choose to get back up again.
In trials we can only refuse to quit.
