Future of Learning: 3A Disruption
Whenever I read an articles or news related to Industry 4.0, it is common that I came across terms related to Future of Work like IOT, Big Data, Crowdsourcing, 3D Printing, Gig Economy. A lot of articles touches on how technologies these days successfully disrupted many industries and changing the society and the way we work. But I found very few that talks about how technology is altering the way we learn and also the education system as a whole.
The Future of Work is inevitable but little do we realise that our way of learning is still way backdated. The gap between skills needed for future of work and our current learning method is getting wider. The non existance of critical thinking and learning agility is worrisome.
Educators need to sink in the prospect of Internet of Things (IOT) that provides intelligence to physical systems and physical labors will slowly be taken over by cognitive labor like Artificial Intelliegence if not all.
I think it is time for Future of Learning that integrates 3A components which are :
Atomization- Complex job can be broken down into simple task for the crowd to perform. Projects can be outsourced to Freelancers and Gig Worker
Automation- Work done by artificial intelligence.
Augmentation- Usage of robots and machine learning to maximise labor potential needed to complete a task.
I believe the Future is Now and we can set our mind to become futurist so that we can anticipate changes in technology and leverage for our benefit. What do you think?
