What would happen if all bees became extinct?

in #food10 years ago

Maybe we would lack honey?

Most of the people can only think of a sweet, translucent, golden, flowy liquid when they hear the word bee.

They are actually far more important than that.

They are directly responsible for 70% of our food production we consume on a daily basis!

Fruits, vegetables and seeds etc.

China already experiencing this problem. Fortunately they have a pool of nearly unlimited, cheap workforce which can be used for manual pollination but as you can see it is pretty absurd to play the role of bees as humans.

Some records say that trees pollinated by bees can increase harvest by 30% compared with any other method used.

If this would happen the same way in some developed countries in the short term you could expect the apple, orange, coffee, chocolate and rapeseed oil industries to collapse.

good post. keep it up

Thanks @vishal1! I really appreciate your opinion

stop using pesticides and chemical fertilisers in commercial farming and this should stop killing the bees....

Right, chemicals do all the harm. Anything that has the tag commercial attached to it kills for money.
