Hi Steemians!

I found in my archives photos from a trip to a cool place where you can see a lot of crocuses in spring and avoid the crowds coming to the Chochołowska Valley. This is my trip from March 29, 2014. I invite you on a short relation.

Kościeliska Valley is a beautiful and well-known place. Recently I wrote an article about her. However, this time it will show you a cool place a little higher. Walking along the valley, we are at an altitude of about 1000 m a.s.l. After passing the first 2 kilometers of the Kościeliska Valley, a reflection of the red trail appears on the left, next to the bridge, which eventually leads to the Czerwone Wierchy mountains. It is very far, but when you follow this trail for about an hour, you will reach the title Glade Upłaz.

This high mountain glade is located on an inclined slope with a height of 1260-1350 m a.s.l. It has an area of 15 hectares. In the old days sheep were grazed on it. In 1961, it was bought from local highlanders by the Tatra National Park. The red trail leads just through this clearing. An hour up the hill is enough to have unlimited views and see much more than just visiting the Kościeliska Valley itself.

Above, a view of the Kominiarski Wierch (1829 m a.s.l.), which is located in the Polish Western Tatras, between the Chochołowska Valley and Kościeliska. On the other hand, below, a view of the Giewont mountain (1894 m a.s.l.), on the top of which is a 15-meter iron cross. Such a view wait on you from the upper part of the glade. From this perspective, Giewont looks almost like a volcano.

Moving further south, we see the whole, huge massif of Czerwone Wierchy. It consists of four peaks with altitudes over 2000 m a.s.l. In this winter scenery it looks really amazing. I will show you a trip there someday. Czerwone Wierchy is one of my favorite places in the entire Tatra Mountains. I've been there about 10 times!

To sum up, Glade Upłaz is a nice place, located just a few kilometers from the city of Zakopane. When visiting the Kościeliska Valley, be sure to see this place, especially in early spring. Views like from my photos live are much better. Greetings to all those who love mountains!
