The taxidermy paradox

in #art8 years ago

Taxidermy is the art of dissecting animals for scientific, pedagogical and exhibition purposes.

The truth is that this activity is surrounded by ambiguity, as one group considers it an enriching task that favours the cultural closeness between man and the animal world.

And another group thinks that this activity encourages indiscriminate hunting and the consequent extinction of some species.

It also generates a certain rejection in some people because, although the figures exhibited are manipulated and are not entirely real, they are wrapped in a certain aura that flirts between reality and fantasy, creating a somewhat macabre atmosphere.

There are also hunting trophies that show the world the triumph of human vanity over the animal world.

For many, the activity has been distorted, distorting the didactic and conservation purpose of the traditional technique of taxidermy.

For you steemians friend who read me, what do you think of this discipline, art or barbarism?
