Live session: Penny Police - Mostly The Same

Thought I should share this. This is a live session we did some time ago, but just released today. The track is "Mostly The Same" and it's from the new EP "Train Talk" which I produced and mixed. You can listen to it here on Spotify.

I also did the string arrangement, but nothing too fancy there.

I know this is Marie's favorite song of the EP, and probably mine two. It's very personal for her so I'll leave you with her words about it:

This song means a lot to me. It’s about growing up and becoming a mother. It’s about realizing that things won’t necessarily get better just because you get older. You can still feel very low and be very hard on yourself. That kind of hit me when I got my daughter. I was so in love with her, but it didn’t make me love myself more. Unconsciously, I somehow expected that. Now she is 3 years old and I'm still learning to take care of myself the way I take care of her. And also it’s quite an eye-opener realizing that people aren’t necessarily in control of their lives just because they are grownups. It makes me calm to think that lives aren’t something we can control, but something that we grow with and learn from.

The session was filmed at Koncertkirken (The Concert Church) here in Copenhagen, which is a venue in a church in the middle of Nørrebro. I hope you like it.
