in #health7 years ago (edited)

Ginger holds a very high place in the world of Ayurvedic medicine. This is because it has proven its capability to help in digestion for ages and a large number of various properties which are beneficial to health.

Ginger is an ingredient which has liberal use in the preparation of food in India. Tea laced with ginger is one of the favorite hot drinks of any household and the grandmothers in every household use this as a remedy for coughs and colds.

Small and thin slices of salted ginger pickled in lime juice with the colour of soft pink and served with the normal rice and lentil soup is a very common sight on many household dinner tables.

informative post and also good

I really like using in Ginger in cooking, in fact I chop it quite coarse because I like having the gingery cubes to chew on. It doesn't go down so well with the rest of the family - but hey you can't please everyone!

yes in Indian cooking too ginger holds an important place... its also good for throat specially in winters... someday try adding coarse ginger to your tea... when the water is still boiling... I am sure you will like it :)
