Hundreds of cycles 'lost' in a week from Google
Hundreds of '200 cycles per employee lost from the Google campus every week.
According to the IANS report, Google employs about 1100 cycles of yellow-colored frames, red baskets and green and blue wheels for employees. These cycles are named after the staff so that they can easily move from campus to other places.
According to the organization, one hundred and sixty bicycles can be lost every week on campus. Usually these bicycles cost one hundred to three hundred dollars.
These bicycles are seen in shops that sell local schools, neighborhoods, and sports equipment. On January 5, the Wall Street Journal report said, "This incident of missing bicycles is not a work of ordinary thieves."
A decade ago, Google started the first corporate bike operation in Silicon Valley. Then in the United States, at least 16 organizations including Apple, Facebook, Walmart and others follow it.
The company has recently bought about one-third of their 1100 bicycle again. These cyclists, with GPS Tracker, give 12 trips a day or six miles each.
Google is not sure exactly how many cycles have been lost so far. From July to November this year, Google retrieved 70 to 190 lost bicycles per week, which is almost two-thirds of the bicycle lost on campus.
Workers can unlock through their smartphones - Google has started experimenting with such cycles.
According to Google manager, the cyclist is a Google employee. This is why it is becoming difficult to stop theft.
