Mahela Jayawardhana is a best batsman & also a successful captain in Sri Lanka cricket team in years of 1997 to 2015. He sored his highest test score is 374 against to South Africa. And he has a highest partnership with Kumar Sangakkara for 3rd wicket(624 Runs). because of best performances in 2006, International cricket council (ICC) named he is the best captain in the world 2006.

After the retirement from SL cricket team he donated money Maharagama cancer hospitals in Sri Lanka.
