The Cree!

I love discovering cultures and creating art. So naturally a lot of my artworks are my personal way of investigating and paying respect to the many beautiful peoples on this earth. The Native American series was really fun to do. With their enormous diversity, strength, beauty and style, it was a pleasure to just keep discovering and creating more.

This is a digital mixed media portrait I did of a Cree Indian in 2014.

I think these 4 Cree proverbs are definitely worth taking in.

1. "Be truthful and respectful in our speech, which in itself is a miracle and a gift from the Creator, that we might use it only to speak good of each other and pass on the good things of life."

2. "Love one another and help one another."

3. "Realize that we as human beings have been put on this earth for only a short time and that we must use this time to gain wisdom, knowledge, respect and the understanding for all human beings since we are all relatives."

4. "Only when the last tree has died, the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught, will we realize we cannot eat money"
