Steem Football Prediction Challenge: Premier League 2017/2018. Introduction and Rules

Hello Steemians! I’m pleased to announce Steem Football Prediction Challenge: Premier League 2017/2018 - a competition for those who follow English Premier League and would like to check their prediction skills. The new season is going to start this Friday - so let us see how good you are at match score forecasting and win prizes in SBD for it :)

Challenge rules

Before every English Premier League matchweek I will make a post with a list of matches of upcoming tour. To participate in the challenge you need to:

1. Post your predictions in comments (1 comment per person, do not make several comments - only the first one will be taken into account);
2. Upvote “Steem Football Prediction Challenge: English Premier League” posts (this will increase the prize pool).

Challenge points

For every successful prediction participants get challenge points. More points you get - more chances you have to win!
Here are the points you can earn:

• Predicting an exact score: 100 points
• Predicting the winner and correct goal difference (if you are wrong with the exact score but correctly predicted the winner and goal difference. Draws are not included): 75 points
• Predicting the correct result (if you correctly predict the winner or a draw): 50 points
• Predicting the correct amount of goals scored by one team (if you are wrong with the exact score, goal difference and match result but correctly predicted number of goals scored by any team): 25 points
• All other cases: 0 points

In the table below you can see a simple explanation with examples:

Team A - Team B 2:0	Team A - Team B 2:0	For this prediction you get 100 points. You are the oracle!
Team A - Team B 2:0	Team A - Team B 3:1	For this prediction you get 75 points - you’ve predicted the winner (team A) and correct goal difference (2 goals). But not the exact score.
Team A - Team B 2:0	Team A - Team B 1:0	For this prediction you get 50 points - you’ve predicted the result (team A wins) but were not accurate with goal difference.
Team A - Team B 2:0	Team A - Team B 2:2	For this prediction you get 25 points - you were mistaken with game result (draw) but correctly predicted the amount of goals scored by team A.
Team A - Team B 2:0	Team A - Team B 0:2	For this unlucky prediction you get 0 points.

Prizes

After every completed tour the total of points for every participant will be calculated. Top 3 predictors will get their prizes:

1st place: 5 SBD guarantee + 40% SBD from my author rewards*
2nd place: 3 SBD guarantee + 20% SBD from my author rewards*
3rd place: 2 SBD guarantee + 10% SBD from my author rewards*

If there is a situation where several participants have the same Top 3 result - the prize is divided equally among them. For example, user A and user B both get 500 points for their predictions. And this is the point amount enough to take the 2nd place in our challenge. So every user gets 1.5 SBD and 10% (3 SBD and 20% divided equally for 2 users) from my author rewards*.

*author rewards from “Steem Football Prediction Challenge: Premier League” post with the list of games for latest tour ended. Such posts will be created with default rewards scheme 50% in SBD and 50% in Steem Power.

• Guarantee part of the prize will be paid after tour end and top 3 predictors are identified;
• % part of prize will be paid after 7 days after the end of the tour.
