Ferrari F40 Freehand Drawing
Dear Steemit frieds,
I want to show you this drawing of a Ferrari F40 that I made many years ago, as the final work for the first year of car-design school in Italy. The challenge was that we could not use any tricks or tools such as no projecting the image, no tracing it, and we could use no rulers, etc. We did have a reference photo and we had to copy it exactly, FREEHAND. We did it in the classroom, so there was no possible cheating.
This is my final drawing. If you were to look at it with a magnifying lens, you could even see the prancing horse in the front logo, and every bolt on the wheels.
It took me weeks of intense work, but it was worth it. I learned what was possible if you were pushed to get it.
I'm proud to say that I did get the maximum score, but the biggest honor was that in the corridor of the school there were a few of the student works framed and hung. They were only about 7 of them, and these were a selection of the best from all the alumni from all the years of the existence of the school. Once I came back for my second year I found out that one of them had been taken down to make a place to hang mine!
I was so proud. That was long time ago.
