Time-bound Goals - SMART Goals

in #life3 years ago

DescriptionA goal is something of the past or desired end which a particular group of individuals visualize, plan and dedicate themselves to achieve. Everybody strives to achieve certain goals in a certain limited time frame by establishing certain deadlines. However, not every goal can be achieved in an easily achievable manner. Goals need to be set for the effective management of time, energy and resources.

Goals are something new every week. It's always good to write down what you want to achieve so you can measure your progress and see if you are on track. We all know that goals should be measurable, i.e. something measurable, so we know exactly what we are trying to achieve.

How do you know what the right goals are? To measure the success of your objectives, it's good to have a list of short-term goals, and also the corresponding long-term ones. As an example: If you are a salesperson, you could use your list of short-term goals to focus on the current quarter or each of the next three quarters. That way, when you make a decision as to which of the short-term goals to work on, you know how to set and achieve them.

Achieving Personal Smart Goals. Another important factor is setting achievable goals. If you don't set yourself some big goals, you won't likely to accomplish much. So for a successful personal development, it is necessary to set SMART goals, or simple, short-term, tangible goals.

Why do people need smart goals examples? First of all, they help you see where you are going wrong in terms of your planning and execution. For example: You could be spending too much time on planning, but you know that you should devote more time to implement your plans. So you ask, "What can I do to increase my productivity here?" In this case, you can put together a smart action plan. It consists of things like setting up a good work environment, improving your skills, getting rid of non-priorities, and so on.

Why do experts recommend setting SMART goals? They say that goals are important part of any plan - long-term or short-term. They also say that having well-defined goals is the most important part of achieving success. You would definitely know what they are if you know what they are, and setting SMART goals is the first step. And it doesn't matter whether these goals are long-term or short-term. Setting SMART goals makes sure that the plan you will be working on will meet its objective sooner or later.

So, how can we know what are SMART goals? Simple! Achieving goals may be achieved if we know exactly what they are and how to measure their success. But how do we know when they are already achievable? If they are SMART objectives, it means that they are not too far away from being realized because if they are not well-defined, there will always be some hurdles in their way.

For example, let's assume that your goal is to learn a foreign language in 2 months. You have a plan, a schedule, and you have committed yourself to work every week for one month. You know that you need to find out if you are learning anything new or not. If you set your goals based on the time frame of two months, you will be forced to work hard until you achieve your goal. This is not the best idea, and this kind of goal setting is called a "time-bound goal." Thus, if you set your goals with a smart focus, you can be sure that you will indeed achieve your goals every week or every day.
