Living a Positive Life - How to Maintain a Positive Attitude

Positive attitude is a universal concept first presented in 1937 by Napoleon Hill in his book Think And Grow Rich. The book never uses the word, but refers to the power of positive thinking as being a leading factor of personal success. This idea has been around for centuries, however, recent research has shown that it has new powers to help you achieve your goals. In this article we will discuss what positive attitude means, how it can help your life, and why you should incorporate it into every aspect of your life.


Your attitude or disposition toward any situation is influenced by the information you are constantly fed by negative thoughts. If you regularly feed yourself with negative thoughts such as; "I will never succeed", "Why am I not successful," "I will never find the love of my life," "I will never get promoted," and so forth, you have the possibility of never achieving your desired goals. Consequently, a positive attitude helps prevent negative thoughts from taking over your mind.

It is important to start your day with a positive attitude. In fact, the best time to start your day is when you are positive and optimistic! As soon as you wake up, begin to think positively. Begin to look forward to anything that could happen in your day. Visualize the good things that you want to experience.

A positive attitude also helps combat negative thoughts. If you constantly tell yourself that you will never be rich, you will keep telling yourself that until you accomplish something about it. This will eventually create the belief that it is impossible for you to accomplish these things and thus will keep you from achieving them. On the other hand, if you constantly tell yourself that you are happy and that you have a great smile, you will have more positive thoughts and keep seeing the good in everything around you. This will help you keep from feeling sad or down and therefore will prevent you from having negative thoughts like "I will never be able to do that."

It has been proven that those who have positive attitudes and are living in a positive state are more productive than those who are negative thinkers. It has also been proven that those who are living in positive thinking states are happier than those who dwell on their negative thoughts! Therefore, a positive attitude and a daily practice of positive thinking will go a long way to creating a happy, healthy and successful life.

People are naturally born with a positive attitude. However, in order to achieve and maintain a positive attitude throughout your life, it is necessary to work on it and practice it on a daily basis. One way to work on your positive attitude is to focus on the good things that you do. If you focus on the good things that you are doing, you will have a more positive attitude because you will start to see the good in every aspect of your life. Every time you look at something, you will see the positive aspects of that situation.

Another way to gain and maintain a positive attitude is to read books that will help you enhance your positive thinking skills. By reading positive books, you will be able to see the good in situations around you and in other things in life. In this way, instead of seeing life as a problem, you will see it as a chance to grow and learn.


You may be afraid that positive thoughts are strange or unusual. You may even think that it is absurd for someone to spend time thinking about such a trivial topic as being positive. The truth is, having a positive attitude is far from trivial. When you start to see life in terms of opportunities rather than problems, your life will be a much happier one. Instead of feeling miserable and depressed, you will notice that you are able to smile more often! And not only will you be happier, you will find that you can take on anything with a smile on your face.
