Bitcoin no doubt will be the king but the king currently has few worthy successors which he didn't have before. With the introduction of many new cryptos and higher bitcoin transaction fee added with the slower transaction rate has made people seek other cryptos.
There are currently coins which have lower fees and much better transfer speed than bitcoin. This has led people searching for other options and they have found few as well. If this trend continues, bitcoin may just be supplanted in the coming years.
Hopefully bitcoin could correct few of it's flaws so that it will have more people jumping into it.
