iPhone 7 Leak Reveals Important Late Upgrades

in #iphone10 years ago

Critics have long argued the iPhone 7 will be a letdown – both in terms of its design and missing features – but in recent weeks a steady stream of positive surprises have emerged. And now there are two more late in the game…

Chinese site Mydrivers (which famously nailed the iPhone SE in January) is the source of the news, posting what it claims is a key slide from an internal Foxconn presentation of the iPhone 7 to top management. Foxconn is Apple’s biggest manufacturing partner and – with the launch just two months away – the timing fits.

So what does the slide reveal? Aside from the specs we already know, the big news is IP68 water resistance (which means the phone can be fully submerged in water for up to 30 minutes) and wireless charging.

Both features are already offered by Apple’s big rival Samsung on its flagship Galaxy S7 range (and should make it to the upcoming Galaxy Note 7), but wireless charging in particular would make perfect sense with the headphone jack disappearing. After all, other than wireless headphones, there would be no way to charge the iPhone 7 and listen to music simultaneously – until now.
