RATS!

Who knew rats were so cool?!

I sure as heck didn’t. It started with two... I thought I was rescuing two baby female rats. Long story short, both females were very well pregnant and not babies but full of them!

I became an insta-crazy-rat-lady and not by choice. Two rats multiplied and became 23! That’s rat math for you! 1+1=23!

So here I go again... I am a sucker for animals and had to make sure these guys had the best life possible while trying to maintain some sort of sanity. Three double critter nations later I was able to find wonderful homes for a good handful of them.

The rest of them, all lucky 13 of them are still home with us and have become part of the family. We even incorporated them into our Halloween costumes!

I consider myself lucky to have been able to spend a very long time observing and interacting with many different types of animal species. These little critters are often seen as a pest but they are intelligent, caring and gentle creatures. I have seen the dedications of the momma rats towards their babies (forget about momma bear, don’t mess with a momma rat!). I have witness them care for each other and even myself.

Most creatures can amaze us if given the chance. Be kind to animals and the world will be a better place for it ❤️
