Moving off the homestead has been a good step.
4 years ago, my wife and I embarked on a journey that will forever change our outlook on life. We got a small cabin on 14 acres in the Missouri ozarks. The only utility provided was electric, but we managed our own rain water catchment, heat, and waste.
We raised our own food, and provided for ourselves in ways many will never expierence. We held the lives of animals in our hands and watched them grow. We also learned what we could live with, and more importantly, what we could live without.
The steem community was a big part of that journey in the beginning, and i am so thankful i found this silly ol website. After a death of a close family member, we moved off of the homestead to be closer to family, but we will never give up on doing this again. We are already planning our next property in a couple years and cant wait to apply all we learned. I plan to post more stories on our expierences in homesteading and our plans for the future, ive been gone a while but its good to be back! Talk to you soon steemians!
