[My Review] Himouto! Umaru-chan R Anime! Umaruunnnnnn~ Shupan!

Today, I am interested to review one of the anime titled “Himouto! Umaru-chan R”, the second season of Himouto! Umaru-chan.

• The synopsis

People are not always who they appear to be, as is the case with Umaru Doma, the perfect high school girl—that is, until she gets home! Once the front door closes, the real fun begins. When she dons her hamster hoodie, she transforms from a refined, over-achieving student into a lazy, junk food-eating otaku, leaving all the housework to her responsible older brother Taihei. Whether she's hanging out with her friends Nana Ebina and Kirie Motoba, or competing with her self-proclaimed "rival" Sylphinford Tachibana, Umaru knows how to kick back and have some fun!

Himouto! Umaru-chan is a cute story that follows the daily adventures of Umaru and Taihei, as they take care of—and put up with—each other the best they can, as well as the unbreakable bonds between friends and siblings.

• The Story

The momentum from the first season has been left unchanged. The plot doesn’t really changed too. If you haven’t watch the first season, the synopsis above pretty explained much of it. The second season is more focused on their friendships bonding. It gives the lovely feels while delivering some jokes while they playing with among themselves. The story has been written well for this season too. It also explored more on the characters background too like their past and also their families. This is also a slice of life anime, where it is more to random everyday events with naturally slip some comedy between it.

• The Character

Umaru Donna is a person who able to have so many personalities while her friends not noticing it but still maintain a good grades, even though she just get lazy and doing nothing at home except for playing games and reading some comics. Not really a good model, I think. I still remember that my friend said to me that this show is about an everyday life of someone who doesn’t have life, which is pretty much more livable than my life. Well she still have friends to hang out together rather me sitting in front of my computer writing some review.

Back to the story, I do think Taihei, the older brother of Umaru is a good brother model. He is responsible and does lot of thing to maintaining the while house. He have a good friends who always support him at work too. Also he never let the stress of his work out to his sister.

Umaru friends are quite interesting too. Each of them has a different characteristics. Ebina is adorable and shy. She also has feelings with Taihei too. For Slyphin, she is Umaru’s rival but also UMR’s friend. UMR is another personality of Umaru. She is very competitive but also very kind to her family and friends. Whenever I saw her, I will say in my head “Oh no, the troublemaker has come”. Kirie always look Umaru as her master. She is also kind and caring but has a complicated love-hate relationship with her older brother, Takeshi Motoba.

• The Music

Ahh, Umaru-chan everywhere! The opening animation technically show the overall content of the show. It also show the different type of personality of Umaru too.

"Umarun Taisou (うまるん体操)" by Sisters (妹S) [Umaru Doma (Aimi Tanaka), Nana Ebina (Akari Kageyama), Kirie Motoba (Haruka Shiraishi), Sylphinford Tachibana (Yurina Furukawa)]

The ending animation makes it’s nice to have some friends who will do all the crazy things together. It also show all of the characters in chibi style. It’s cute though. Pura pura pupuraaaa~

• Overall

It’s a very fun show to watch. We can relate some part of her personality too. This season show the broader view of the Umaru world with the appearance of new characters too. If you enjoyed the first season then you should definitely enjoy this as well.
