Wishes.

This is just a slightly edited little something i wrote in July 2016, and have previously posted it on wattpad before. But hey, i just thought it would be nice to share with all of you. Hope you guys enjoy!

Wishes

As I stand here with a dandelion in my hand
And the clock shows that it's 11.10
Once again, my mind flashes back to you
It’s not a surprise, because I always do.

Do you recall that time when we were still young and close
The last birthday ‘party’ you threw,you never felt the need for those.
I remember when you looked at me and extinguished the flickering flame
With a light laugh, you said:"I don't believe in wishes, things will always stay the same."

I blink back the memory quickly as well as the tears
You should've come here with me,you always helped fight my fears
It's now 11.11, and I wish with all my might
I wish that you could one day somehow see that you're my light

I wish that you would know how beautiful you are
I wish that you would see how you're my brightest star
I wish you'd look at yourself through my eyes
I wish that you didn't believe all those lies
I wish you'd realize there's still so much you can do
I wish that someday you'd love yourself like how I love you.

As what's left of the flower blows away, out of sight
And my breathing grows heavier,just like the night
I whisper softly, "you know, I don't believe in wishes too,"

But hey, who knows?
They might finally come true.
