I made these illustrations for World Book Day, as part of a tribute to the two literary giants, Shakespeare and Cervantes, who died on the same date, April 23, 1616 (although one died according to the Julian calendar and the other according to the Gregorian calendar). In each of them you can see some of the main characters of their works. From Cervantes, apart from the well-known Don Quixote, I also included characters from his short farces and Exemplary Tales, such as Rinconete and Cortadillo, the "illustrious" kitchen maid, and Cipión and Berganza, the two dogs protagonists of The Dialogue of the Dogs. The illustration dedicated to Shakespeare features McBeth, Romeo and Juliet, and Hamlet, among others.

Hello! Great pictures for kids. Even the mill has emotions. I am sure that it is not easy to bring together so many different heroes.

I nominate your post on Nomination Day 13.
