Bee-eater - Abejaruco
Another watercolour I made for the exhibition My experiences in the Tablas de Daimiel: an European bee-eater (Merops apiaster), the terror of bees and all kinds of flying insects. This is probably one of the most beautiful and colourful birds that can be found in the fields of the Mediterranean area as soon as the summer season arrives. They are also unmistakable for their song.
Otra acuarela que realicé para la exposición Mis viviencias en las Tablas de Daimiel: un abejaruco común o europeo (Merops apiaste), el terror de las abejas y de todo tipo de insectos voladores. Seguramente sea este uno de los pájaros más bellos y coloridos que podemos encontrar por los campos del entorno mediterráneo en cuanto llega la época estival. Son también inconfundibles por su canto.
Such colourful bird, lovely watercolour painting, you managed to show very well the feather of a bird!
I am more used to painting waterfowl, but for a while I was painting various types of birds.

Se dice que el abejaruco contiene todos los colores del arcoíris en su plumaje, salvo el rojo. Es en los ojos donde tienen está presente el color rojo.
