You Cannot Control Everything

One fact in life that some people refuse to accept is that you do not have any control over many things that happen in your life.

Some people that refuse this truth become control freaks. They begin micromanaging, refusing to delegate tasks and try to force people to change to their ideal. They make the judgement that if they can enough control over people, they can stop bad things happening to themselves.

You Have An Influence To Shape Interactions

Other people realise that they can't stop these bad things from happening. However, they still worry about them anyway. They are anxious about everything from deadly diseases to natural distasters. Their worries do keep them occupied, but they wase their time and energy on worrying on things out of their control.

You can influence people and situations. But, you can't force things to go your way. For example, you can help provide your child with the resources to get good grades, but you can't make him get a high grade indefinitely. Another example may be you have set up a great party, but you can't force the party goers to have a great time.

Take A Breath And Relax

Usually people occupy their minds by thinking things like, "I can't let my business fail," but in the end, they haven't spent anytime thinking, "What would I do if my business failed?" Having a different mindset and thoughts can help you be prepared for the downfall of the things you cannot control.

Find healthy stress relievers. Think about taking up meditation, getting a new hobby or spending time with a loved one. I have said it many times before in my posts, but we are social beings. Talk to someone. If you isolate yourself after something bad happens which you couldn't have controlled, you will only feel more depressed.
