Nallur Kandaswamy temple

one of the most popular and significant Hindu temples in the Jaffna District of Northern Province Sri Lanka. The presiding deity is Lord Murugan the original, Kandaswamy Temple was founded in 948 ad. 

According to the Yalpana( Jaffna ) Vaipava Malai, the temple was developed at the site in the 13th century by Buwanika Bahu, a minister to the King of Kotte.

The festival is spread over a period of 25 days during which various Yagams Abhishekams and special poojas are conducted.
