The ships sail forever - Bark boat post 1
There's a tradition to make small boats of bark. You find a piece of bark and add both a mast and a sail to it. With good luck, the boat will drift far and with poor luck, it'll turn around and sink almost instantly.
We had a contest with my wife and my son who has the "most durable" ship. The last one to fall over in the water would be the winner.
First my wife released her own boat. It beautifully slid to the distance.
The second one was my sons boat. The weather was quite windy and you can see it based on the distance the first boat had already traveled.
Third one was my boat...
...
...
And it met it's fate even before the first rocks.
The sad fate struck upon my boat and my crew.
My family's boats happily sailed to the distance.
Actually my sons boat was the winner, as my wifes boat flipped over almost instantly it hit larger waves. My sons boat struggled on for a while even in the waves.
The next set of boats were built. I made a large "battleship" with double sails, my wife made something she called "a viking boat". My son continued with the trusted basic design.
My wife had the idea of building a raft and I built it (with my superb engineer skills) and it was as a bonus ship.
My wife's ship was sent off first again. Even though it looked a bit funny, it sailed really well.
The ships were sent away again and...
...
...
Aww nooooooo. It's my ship again. Flipped instantly over and almost turned over my sons boat too.
I give up.
No more boats for me. They all suck.
Even the silly raft survived longer than my grand design ship.
No more.
Never again.
My son won again, all three of them stayed up so long I assumed they'd sail to Sweden before sinking.
How can you lose to your offspring? Smh!
On another note, beautiful water body. I am strange because I can't get even in a boat and I don't know how to swim but I can sit on that bank for eternity. Weird...huh?
Losing is easy.
I'm just happy if my children will become better than I am ;)
The water is magnificent. I can swim and I can drive a boat, but I'm afraid of the depths of water. But still, it's truly beautiful.
I love this side of you though he rarely surfaces 💙

It sounds to me like you may have needed more balast and, perhaps, a good rudder!
You might be right. I tried to impress, not to be smart.
This is how we learn.
