Headed to Bama!
Oh @samks, now don't you cry for me, fer I'm gone to Alabama.... Wait! Where is my COTTON PICKIN' my Banjo?!
After this much needed (but a little too long) 6 month vacation, Finally getting back to work! This time, one of my best friends (@lydemarks husband) Is coming too, and he's as hungry as I am. We're stoked to get back to work.
Headed to Miller steam plant in Quinton Alabama. It's one of the few coal fired power plants left, but seems to be a lot like Plant Bowen in Georgia (the last job I was on.)
Miller has four units, and two cooling towers on about 800 acres. Have absolutely no clue what we're going into. I've worked one other power plant, and never worked for Alabama Power or this contractor before. Probably not gonna know what we'll be working on till we get there, but, should be there, God willin', till September give or take.
I'm really hoping it'll be a fun, laid back job. Things are what you make of em' I reckon. I know we have one local guy there, maybe two already, so I think it'll be good.
@samks and @lydemarks aren't very happy about being away from us, but they'll be coming down in a couple weeks for awhile, and depending on how long this job is suppose to run, might find us a little place to split in AL. and carry both our whole fam damnlys down. Hopefully so. A lot of guys like to, or don't mind to leave their families at home when they go out on these jobs, but I think It's nice to have that support system when you're hundreds of miles from home working long hours. Plus, they get to see all kinds of new places and try different things too! It's like a working vacation all the time! Just another upside to homeschooling. There's nothing tying us down, and we're able to do things like that.
:)
LET'S GO MAKE THAT MONEY! $$$
Thanks for checking out this post!
