I lived in Tucson for over half my life (25+ years). I loved going up into the mountains at night and climbing around and watching down on the city. It was amazing seeing how much light pollution is still emitted there despite the many areas lacking street lights to stop it so the telescopes could get better views. If you were ever down that way and stopped at the Tanque Verde Swap Meet you probably passed by my booth.
Cool! Thanks for sharing your story. I've only been to Tuscon a few times when I was younger so I dunno.. But yeah I also love getting up on a big mountain and watching the city lights! Those have definitely been some magical sort of nights. And I know the word magical sounds a lil cheesy, but heh.. It really is sometimes. When the temperature is just right and.. I dunno.. There's a special feeling about it.
