October in our garden

Summer is over, autumn has passed the equator, there are still a couple of weeks left and this guard will start hiding in the snow. Constant rains do not allow to finish all the autumn work in the garden. It's very sad

Лето закончилось, осень перевалила за экватор, осталось еще пару недель и этот охранник начнет прятаться в снегу. Постоянные дожди не дают закончить все осенние работы в саду. Обидно.


Last week, my wife planted onions. We have been planting onions in autumn for several years. Very convenient. In the spring, it begins to grow actively and you don't have to think when to plant it. There is always little time in the spring, you need to plant a lot of all kinds of plants. And the wife decided to cover the onion with pine branches. What for? In previous years, stray dogs liked to walk around our site. The dogs had a well-trodden path when the old house was standing and we could not block this path for a long time. The fence didn't even help right away. And what do dogs and cats like? They like to dig freshly planted onions and garlic. Yes, I'm sorry, half of the beds are winter garlic.

На прошлой неделе жена посадила лук. Мы садим осенью лук уже несколько лет. Очень удобно. Весной он начинает активно расти и не надо думать когда его садить. Весной всегда бывает мало времени, нужно посадить много всяких растений. И жена решила прикрыть лук сосновыми ветками. Зачем? В прежние годы по нашему участку любили ходить бродячие собаки. У собак была протоптана дорожка, когда стоял старый дом и мы долгое время не могли перекрыть эту тропу. Даже не сразу помог забор. А что любят собаки и кошки? Они любят разрывать свежепосаженный лук и чеснок. Да, извиняюсь, половина грядок - это зимний чеснок.


Strawberries are ready for wintering. This year there was a rich harvest of berries.

Земляника готова к зимовке. В этом году был хороший урожай ягод.


Tomatoes have long been removed from the greenhouse and grass has been planted - arugula, parsley. Last year we ate fresh grass almost until mid-November, when snow was already lying on the beds, and in the greenhouse the grass was very comfortable under the covering material.

Помидоры уже давно убраны из теплицы и была посажена трава - руккола, петрушка. В прошлом году мы ели свежую траву почти до середины ноября, когда уже лежал снег на грядках, а в теплице траве было очень комфортно под укравным материалом.


Cabbage. This is now the only thing that still grows in the beds. It turned out that we didn't plant enough cabbage this year. I have already talked to my wife about this. It is necessary to expand the area for planting vegetables. Part of the developed land has gone for planting trees, and my wife somehow does not consider this to be a reduction in the area of cultivated soil. So it turned out that less vegetables were planted this year.

Капуста. Это теперь единственное, что еще растет на грядках. Оказалось, что в этом году мы мало посадили капусты. Я уже поговорил с женой по этому поводу. Нужно расширять площадь для посадки овощей. Часть разработанной земли ушла под посадки деревьев, а жена как-то это не считает за уменьшение площади обрабатываемой почвы. Вот и получилось, что в этом году было посажено меньше всяких овощей.


It's broccoli. I have harvested 2 times this year from each plant. But it turned out that one plant decided to continue to please me with the harvest, but I no longer paid attention to it. It's a pity. It was possible to remove this crop.

Это брокколи. Я снял в этом году 2 раза урожай с каждого растения. Но оказалось, что одно растение решило и дальше радовать меня урожаем, но я уже не обратил на это внимание. Очень жалко. Можно было снять и этот урожай.


Look, friends, what a big worm. I had 2 sheets of plywood lying on the ground, there were a lot of mouse moves under one of the sheets, and there were worms under the other.

Смотрите, друзья, какой большой червяк. У меня лежали на земле 2 листа фанеры, под одним из листов много мышинных ходов, а под другим были черви.

My wife has postponed the summer hat until next season. Now we are working in the garden already in warm clothes. And there's still enough work to do.

Жена отложила летнюю шляпу до следующего сезона. Теперь мы в саду работаем уже в тёплой одежде. И работы еще достаточно.
