Humanism and Dentistry
For psychoneurodontology, tooth decay is the product of emotional conflicts that have not been unconsciously resolved by the individual. Insecurity, stress and suffering are elements that stimulate the formation of caries. From the brain sends the neuronal signal charged with electricity that reaches the tooth, this is depolarized and the enamel of its surface becomes brittle and at that moment the bacteria can affect. The course of general health of the beings obeys to the balance between the internal and the external, that is, their environment.
Humanism has ethical and philosophical arguments which are used in dentistry, which observes the patient in his human dimension, the center of the actions that the dentist should produce in terms of activities and ethical attitudes, therefore the emotional state of the patients should not be discarded. Even though technological advances and scientific innovations are the driving force behind modern practice and the consumer society gives rise to lifestyles in line with these new dynamics, humane treatment must be preserved above all else, especially when science is already treating caries as a consequence of negative emotions, and anyone who comes to the office with a dental condition, no matter how simple it may be, must be treated with special subtlety.
Hello @aplausos!
Very interesting topic, the truth had not read anything related, however, highlights the importance of the influence of emotions on our health, even more so in these times where stress, anxiety predominates so we must maintain a balance to stay healthy. Thank you for sharing
Thanks to you for your contribution in the commentary, best regards
hello @aplausos,
it is amazing how moods affect us so much in human biology, the brain can help heal people but it can also cause illness. that is why being aware of our moods is so important because if we are not aware we can be more prone to common illnesses and serious diseases.
Undoubtedly the moods are states of the soul and we must not forget that we are mind, body and soul, greetings and thank you.
Hi @aplausos. Wow, an interesting topic, I had already heard about psychoneuroimmunology, but I had not seen its relation with cavities, it is very interesting how our health always obeys to a balance between our mind and our body.
Really incredible, I am a dentist and I witnessed how a doctor diagnosed cavities through the emotional impacts on a CT scan of my son, thanks for commenting.
Hello @aplausos
First time I read about psychoneuroimmunology in the area of dentistry. It is an area that I like, but I had not seen another approach other than medicine, but it may have logic what you say, finally we are energy, and the emotional is an important in our lives, determines many things.
Greetings, I was also surprised, my son's attending physician is performing biodescodification on him and he explained to me about the cavity, which motivated my research, greetings and thank you.
Hello @aplausos
Certainly cavities are the product of emotional conflicts that have not been resolved unconsciously by the individual, oral hygiene is something that should be started at an early age to avoid problems in our adult stage, unfortunately it is the parents who must be alert at this stage of our life.
Best regards, be well.
Hello friend, very interesting what you say, sometimes people believe that emotions have nothing to do with our diseases but the reality is quite the opposite, we are one and everything is connected. Greetings.
Indeed, we are a bag full of emotions that sometimes mismanaged make us sick and also heal us, thanks for commenting.
Dentistry comes to solve many dental problems, which apart from being aesthetic problems also tend to be functional, that by solving them give greater happiness to individuals of this society.
Greetings and thank you for your valuable contribution.
