Wasps in my air conditioner

Today I've noticed two wasps in my room, my room isn't sealed from outside but wasps don't usually wonder in,😕
after investigation I found out that they get sucked in when I turn the air conditioner on 😨
My air conditioner is one of those old school water on wood shaving types. They work best in dry desert environment, but they attract insects, specially wasps.

Now the question is: how can I keep them away from my air conditioner and my room?

I have few ideas, for example isolating the inside of air conditioner to prevent moisture from seeping out, or wrapping the base in kitchen wrap.
What do you suggest?🙏
