Where is the pandemic headed?

As time goes by, the most terrible pandemic that has hit us in modern times does not seem to end and governments seem to care less and less about the situation. A couple of days ago there was news that Prime Minister Boris Johnson had declared that all measures to prevent and contain the virus would be withdrawn. These measures have apparently been due to the controversial partygate. Boris Johnson had been holding parties in quarantine and this has caused a lot of outrage. So much so that he had to apologize to the Queen for holding parties during Prince Philip's funeral.

But are we really at the end of the pandemic? Could it be that covid will evolve again into more aggressive forms due to people's carelessness in relaxing the measures? No one really knows and politicians like Boris Johnson who only care about their image and political survival by relaxing the measures are endangering the world.

All this reminds me of the movie Don't Look Up. For those who have not seen it, I recommend it as it is a mirror of how absurd society can be. There were many people who were outraged and hated the movie because of the fact that the movie was directed against everyone; inept politicians, media that prefer to sugarcoat the truth, and people who minimize the problem and do not want to look at where the real problem is.

It is true that we have more problems to face, such as climate change, which has brought us to the gates of the sixth mass extinction. The extinction that could be one of the most lethal in the history of the planet. But the virus is also of global importance and we must not relax.

As a society, even though the government says that everything is fine and that there is no danger, we must continue to take precautions. It has been demonstrated that politicians are not there to take care of us and if we do not start to take care of ourselves and try to solve the problems that the political class is not interested in because they do not benefit them personally, we are all going to be in serious trouble.
