Sunday Evening at Nugegoda Wetland Park
I have visited several wetland parks around Colombo such as Diyatha Uyana and Beddagana Wetland Park. But I have never visited before Urban Wetland Park in Nugegoda. So Yesterday evening I have visited there with my boyfriend. 👫 Even though it is situated in the middle of a very busy city, when we go through the inside of the Wetland park it hits different.
The beautiful canal and animal diversity add color to the Wetland Park. There are lot of big trees along the edge of the canal such as 'Kubuk tree' and created lot of benches to sit and enjoy the surround.💚
It consists of a jogging track around the park. There were lot of people who came for jogging and walking to this park. We walked along the jogging track around the park while enjoying the beautiful greenery surround. I saw beautiful birds inside the park. 🦆 But I could not able to captured them so close.

The front view of the Urban Wetland Park is rich with many beautiful plants and trees along with the footpaths and benches. So people can spend their time and enjoy the surround leisurely with families, friends and loved ones.😍
There is an old tank placed in it. Later I found the reason behind that, the park is maintained by the military. That's why there is a old tank placed in the park.
After walking along the park we seated on a bench placed at the bank of canal and had a chit-chat and enjoyed the view. 🙈
If you wanna a break from your busy life this will be a great place to have a relaxing time. 😌
This is situated in Nawala ryt? I've been there several times but no idea of it's name. I knew this as Nawala Park
Yeah. This is situated in Nawala. Earlier its named as Weli Park (වැලි පාර්ක්) because it was a sand selling place before becoming a wetland park and now its called Urban Wetland Park.
I didn't really like this place much because I thought that it could have been better if it's well-maintained. But it's a very good place for jogging.
Yeah. That's true.
