The Nutcracker Suite: A Holiday Ballet Treat

in #powerpuff7 years ago

This piece of Blossoomer next generation and PPG OC fanart, which is my final entry for Betty-M's Christmas and New Year's Contest as well as my final piece of work before 2019 wraps up, is dedicated to denaolive, who is celebrating her birthday today.

So, I wish you a lot of love, joy, prosperity, and abundance not only on your birthday but also in the upcoming year of 2020 as well as in your life as an artist and as a person.

This is also dedicated to all of the wonderful Blossoomer shippers and the fans of one of Betty-M's OCs Brianna. So, sit back, relax, and sit in for a spell in terms of how these characters spend their holidays together.

We now reach my final submission for the year of 2019, as 2020 is about to be heralded. We have 19-year-old Brianna Michaels as Clara alongside her beloved wards 9-year-olds Blanchefleur Francoise Green and Blandine Fabienne Green, who are Boomer's and Blossom's daughters, as a couple of snow fairies. As one can tell, they are portraying their respective characters in one of Tchaikovsky's most famous ballets of all time "The Nutcracker". They always perform this work at the Townsville Opera House every holiday season from Advent all the way up to Epiphany, i.e. from December 1 to early January. How did these two end up together having a firm bond based on love, respect, and an undeniable love of music, the French language, and, of course, ballet? Sit in for a spell and listen up.

For most of her life, Brianna Michaels has always wanted to take center stage as a performer, more specifically as a ballerina, an actress, and a singer. However, her main passion mostly rested upon ballet considering how much of a fan she was of George Balanchine, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Alexander Minz, Gayle Young, Rudolf Nureyev, Gelsey Kirkland, Ekaterina Maximova, Larissa Lezhnina, and Margot Fonteyn among many other legendary ballet dancers. She loved watching every single dancer do their thing on stage as well as all the costumes, scenery, and visionary magic that came into play. Whenever one asked Brianna anything about ballet, she would expound every single detail in terms of the characters, the composers, the history, and her most favorite versions of ballet. Be it "The Nutcracker", "Swan Lake", "Sleeping Beauty", "Cinderella", "Romeo and Juliet", and "Giselle", she has always displayed a whole lot of passion for these ballets, which, in turn, are her most favorite ones of all time.

Her kindergarten, grade school, and middle school years were spent going to the Pavlovskaya Sisters' Studio headed by the three legendary Russian ballerinas who have ended up making Townsville their home Anastasia Yuriyevna Pavlovskaya, Elena Galina Pavlovskaya, and Irina Sofiya Pavlovskaya. The Pavlovskaya sisters were absolutely impressed with Brianna's passion, commitment, grit, and enthusiasm to participate in every class, every rehearsal, and every project that she was practically cast in roles with so much substance starting off with one of the swans from "Swan Lake" and Little Red Riding Hood from "Sleeping Beauty".

By the time she reached the age of 14 and while she was still in the eighth grade, she was cast in a role that was destined to be the one that made her a full-fledged star. The star-making role in question was none other than Clara from "The Nutcracker". Some of her female colleagues were so proud of her, while others were pretty jealous but still congratulated her. On the day of the performance, even the critics said a lot of great things about her, such as displaying her metamorphosis from a girl among the children to an adolescent young lady in love with subtlety, loveliness, and beauty for someone still really young, thus making her performance reminiscent of Gelsey Kirkland's iconic portrayal of that heroine with her solo dance as well as her pas de deuxs with the Nutcracker Prince of the evening being the absolute highlights. Ergo, her performance as Clara was a hit.

Even though she found her calling as a young prima ballerina, she started to have more concerns about what her backup plans for her future were going to be. She knew she loved ballet so much, and she could never doubt her own talents, but there were concerns being raised about how much longer she could keep thriving. So, in order to ensure financial security and have a great backup plan with her life, she decided to advertise herself on Craigslist as a carer who was capable of caring for young children. After receiving many rejected offers because many parents could not take a 14 going on 15-year-old too seriously wanting a part-time job, she ended up having a response from none other than 25-year-old Boomer Green and his wife 23-year-old Blossom Utonium-Green who wanted someone to be a carer for their 5-year-old daughters Blanchefleur Francoise Green and Blandine Fabienne Green. Brianna was absolutely astonished to know that this was the same Boomer and Blossom from the six-person superhero team she has been idolizing ever since she was young, Team Xtreme, because of how many times they have saved Townsville from all peril and how their reputation as a strong superhero team looking out for the downtrodden made them Townsville's greatest superhero teams of all time. Brianna excitedly responded and headed to Team Xtreme headquarters to begin her second job as a carer and confidante to her two young wards.

By the time she started her duties as Blanchefleur's and Blandine's carer and confidante, she was pleasantly surprised to know how passionate these young ladies were about ballet, music, and the French language. She was even surprised at how fluently her young wards can speak and write in French. Moreover, Blanchefleur and Blandine remembered Brianna from afar when she did the role of Clara, and they were absolutely gobsmacked at her beautiful performance in that role. This even got to the point where both girls wanted to be just as talented as Brianna in ballet and wanted to train with the Pavlovskaya sisters in their school. Eventually, Blanchefleur and Blandine joined Brianna in attending the Pavlovskaya Sisters' Studio, and the sisters were just as amazed with how classy, cultured, and open-minded Blanchefleur and Blandine were, thus thanking Brianna for recommending them as their students. To add to that, Blanchefleur and Blandine even ended up joining Brianna in a lot of ballet productions with Brianna dancing the roles of Princess Aurora, Coppélia, Giselle, Clara, Cinderella, and Odette and Blanchefleur and Blandine performing the likes of the children from "The Nutcracker" and the little swans from "Swan Lake".

Outside of ballet, Brianna, Blanchefleur, and Blandine always enjoyed making vegetarian to vegan French cuisine, classic literature, opera, chamber music, and theater. Therefore, all three girls had and will always have a firm bond in terms of their similar interests.

One holiday tradition which has kept Brianna, Blanchefleur, and Blandine together has always been performing in "The Nutcracker". While Brianna was very famous as Clara, Blanchefleur and Blandine would do many smaller parts such as one of the children in the first act and one of Mother Gigogne's Polichinelles to standing ovation.

Now with Brianna at 19 years old and continuing her studies as a prima ballerina on the verge of international fame and Blanchefleur and Blandine at 9 years old, they continue to perform in "The Nutcracker". However, while Brianna still performs as Clara, Blanchefleur and Blandine ended up dancing the roles of the snow fairies, which are usually the providence of more mature ballerinas. Thanks to the Pavlovskaya sisters seeing a lot of potential in Blanchefleur and Blandine doing a lot more in the ballet world, they not only ended up dancing on pointe shoes but also found themselves dancing as the snow fairies before the end of the first act, thus showing their overall dancing prowess.

I hope you all enjoyed this. I would even love to thank Betty-M for giving the opportunity to express my ideas, headcanons, and concepts I not only had with my Blossoomer children but some of her OCs. This was definitely a fun contest to be in and I am extremely blessed and grateful to have been a part of it. Even thought I might not end up winning this contest, I still managed to enjoy myself so much and I was so adamant of expressing my boundless love of Blossoomer through some of their most beloved offspring. So, Betty-M, thanks once again and may your 2020 be an epic one.

To all of my watchers, fans, friends, family members, colleagues at university and many of my past schools, fellow DeviantArtists, fellow actors, fellow artists, fellow voice actors, fellow reviewers, fellow filmmakers, fellow journalists, and fellow arts aficionados, I wish you all the best that 2020 has to offer all of you. May we celebrate the upcoming new year with perseverance, strength, beauty, genuineness, courage, and hope for a greater future. Take care and Happy New Year, everybody.
