SEC | S19W1: Designing lesson plans

Hello, friends regards to everyone I'm Anthony from Nigeria and it's a pleasure to have you on my post, I'm engaging in this week's amazing Contest to give out my best.

Wow, what an interesting topic to write about, firstly I want to say a big thanks to our brilliant teachers for this amazing topic.

Teachers are great people, about the world we all know teachers are the medium of passing knowledge to the students, by teaching them and making them understand, everyone can be a teacher but not everyone can be a good teacher, I will proceed to the question from here to give my own opinion on the topic.

What material do you want to teach to students or your child?

Now I am going to be acting like a teacher, as a teacher I will prepare lesson plans which is very important, and the courses that I love to teach are;

• Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Furthermore
• Self-care and mental health awareness

The mentioned subjects above are some crucial subjects that are relevant for children and students to learn, knowing all these materials would impact children and students' benefits of knowledge and a healthy life and also help the children and students build a strong foundation for their future the best stage of learning is learning as a child cos if a child's brain catches something is just like writing on a wet rock and when it dries up is difficult to erase.

Earth and even outer the Galaxy are made with science and technology, our technology is developing each day, so I believe those materials would help students understand the matrix.

And also health awareness is the first thing to teach a child, knowing Self-care and how to study hygiene is very crucial for them to know, and with this knowledge, my students would find my classes more fun cos we will all learn and play together.

Explain how you would design the opening activities, core activities, and closing activities in the learning material?

Opening Activities (5-10% of total time)

• Gaining: gaining the student's attention and interest with crucial facts, and questions.
• Introduction: introduction to the outline agenda, further outline the scheme of work for the students, and the topic that you will be taking for the period.
• Encourage students to share their experiences and be free to relate with your students so they also can be polite to ask questions.
• Activation: It's all the teacher's priority to review students' knowledge on a topic.

Core Activities (80-90% of total time)

Here is where all the teaching will be done, taking students on lectures, giving them instructions on what to do, show them demos and practicals.

Give students feedback and assessment this will help them to know their progress in solving problems and in every other subject.

Closing Activities (5-10% of total time)

• Summary: summarise the lecture and learning objectives.
• Encourage students to reflect on what they've learned, and always give your learners assignments this can encourage them to open their books.
• Conclusion: call to action.

What method will you use, explain why it is the most appropriate.

In my opinion, all that I have written is the best method for me to use as a brilliant teacher idea, in a scenario like practical illustrations matter a lot, break every step of your teaching to the level of the learners so he/she can understand it, while teaching don't allow students to copy note this will distract the learner's attention.

What tools and media do you need so that learners can understand it well?

Although learning is not compulsory it depends on the individual interest if you force some to learn you end up bullying the students, but I have some tools and media that will make my teaching easier.

All I need is the learner's full attention and it must be physical therapy, the media will be physical communication we interact physically I teach them to ask questions and the lesson goes on.

Also, my teaching tools will be a whiteboard and marker, I also prepare my timetable appropriately and if there are lot of equipment it will be theories and practical experiments, so the learners can have experience with what they are learning.

If the learners are interested in gaining knowledge then those are my tools as a teacher.
