How I Warm Up - From Nothing to Something - Owl Tiny Morning Practice

in #art7 years ago

Hi Everybody !

Ever felt a little bit curious about how to warm up? This may be one of the ways =)

(All the images are my own creation and so I own the rights of them)

So as you can see these drawings are not so-good-looking, right? Well you they aren't good looking at all,
that s the truth.

Actually I feel a little bit ashamed for showing this, but a man gotta do what a man gotta do!

See, the purpose of warm up is just that, warming up. And what I try to make here clear (and this is why I put chronological order numbers on each owl drawing) is that if it is a warm up or study, it doesn't have to look outstanding,
but you rather learn something from it.

For example, I never drew an owl before (you can see that by watching the first of them -No.1-), but you can easily spot a fast improvement since the first one until the last one, just 10 drawings later -No.11-.

So you can see how I started adding and understanding better the elements and assets and shapes from the face of the owl itself.

Furthermore, you can even spot since the third one how I started playing with the expressions of the owl itself
because I just love to make things expressive (Despite if it looks cartoonish or realistic).

But, Why Owls?

Anything can be a subject of study if you plan it right. I chose owls because I scheduled with my group of study a hangout all together, sharing screens and my plan is to make an Owl Rider for tonight.

My advice then is to put special attention to shapes and language. If it is a warmup or pseudo-study, just put an eye on the elements present and how you create the shapes

I always put priority on the shapes, and this is what makes my art different I guess. And the colors, but that's another story due that colors are second reading information.

Thanks a lot for your support and I see you in the next one!

I always try to listen to the ideas of my fellow followers to improve my posts and to give something back to the community... therefor: What would you like the next posts to be about? What should I talk about? What kind of painting? Would you like some tutorials about arts, about cooking? Maybe some fresh gamming broadcast? I would love to know!

Bye!

Thanks man!

Nice sketches

Thank you!

Damn bruh! these are damn goood!

Hahaha they suck and you know it xD

I can not even draw a stick man so to me they are very nice.

Ohh thank you!

So as you can see these drawings are not so-good-looking, right? Well you they aren't good looking at all,

That's not true Nick! :)They are not bad at all, especially when you consider, that's your first owls ;) I love to see the improvement on one single page! Nice!

Oh but that s the whole point! they need to be ugly because you can't analyze what s going on beneath the surface if it is rendered and beautifully made :P

they are good enough as the base or structure of drawing. they just need a little shading now

Thing is that this is a study and warm up, they don't need shadows if you are analyzing the structure =)

oh, okay
